In February 2011, $350 in membership fees was collected to fund A Peasful Garden's first year. The funds were primarily used for materials and seeds:
- Raised beds (reclaimed lumber from Urban Miners and compost from Greencycle Grillo)
- Tool shed (lumber from Home Depot)
- Seed garlic (purchased from Bill Duesing)
- Seed potatoes (purchased via the NOFA Spring bulk order)
- Oat seed cover crop and soil amendments (purchased via the NOFA Fall bulk order)
- Seed potatoes
- New hoses and rain barrel system for a better irrigation solution
- New wheelbarrow (if we are unable to secure a working donated wheelbarrow)
- Materials to build better tomato cages
Donations From Members and Friends
Donations of tools and supplies have also come from our members and friends, the New Haven Land Trust, and the New Haven Parks Department, and we are always searching for free stuff that can help the garden grow and develop.
If you have any items you would like to donate, please contact Kanani at kanani[dot]milles[at]gmail[dotcom].
